I’m lucky because I get to work with smart, creative, ambitious, heart centred Mamas and women in business.
They are massage therapists, coaches, entrepreneurs, well-being bringers, mindfulness masters, pregnancy and childbirth angels & all round inspirational ladies. Yes!
I’m constantly in awe of just how powerful and rockin’ these women are.
They dream big and reach for the stars.
But.
With the power to dream big and bravely step up to create that dream, also comes the power to keep yourself stuck in the world of procrastination, to an almighty degree!
Trust me. I know from whence I speak! I’m one of the biggest procrastinators in the universe!
It’s why I see it so easily in others and also why I know how to get the stuck bits unstuck…one teeny tiny step at a time.
And so, I’m lucky because I get to work with amazing women who know they have it in them to rise up, and are ready to do the deep inner work to get themselves there.
Women who are ready to dig deep and release the s**t (sorry) that gets in the way and bogs them down.
Ready to release that s**t so they can get to the good stuff.
Because that’s how you get to your dream – clear the crud and take one teeny tiny manageable step a time.
You don’t need to know the entire path, just allow one small action take you to the next. Keeping it simple all along the way.
So how can having a big dream stop you in your tracks?
If you’re reading this then it’s my guess you are already working towards a big goal or are secretly growing one deep inside. A little dream baby waiting for you to bring it to life with your actions.
But sometimes we can’t seem to get anywhere with our dreams. Sometimes we can’t even seem to get started and we eventually let those dreams peter out and fade away, living on only as a vague sense of failure that lurks in the depths of the subconscious waiting to bait us the next time we have a ‘light bulb’ moment.
So what can you do to help keep you moving forward when all you want to do is grab a cuppa and watch Netflix till you completely numb out?
Let me take you through 6 things that are triggered around big dreams/goals.
This is clarity creating and will give you the insight to see what’s happening and do something about it so that your dream doesn’t wither on the vine. Ensuring that it is nurtured and gets to grow, and you with it.
When you think of your big dream or outrageous goal there is often
- an immediate reaction of ‘It’s impossible!’
- An immediate identification of someone or something that is in your way. A competitor/ the nature of your market/a specific person
- An arising of feelings or emotions about a shortcoming you believe you have. Things that you feel are missing in you and getting in the way of your success. These can be very painful emotions and can cause you to be very hard on yourself.
- The lack of time or energy that you have available to do the things you need to do to achieve your goal. This shows up in 2 ways.
- The belief that to achieve that goal it would have to be a struggle and ‘I’d have to work a lot harder’
- Your current situation and thoughts around how little time you already have. ‘how am I ever going to work that much harder to create that goal?’
- Having debt – just having a debt situation can overwhelm everything with strong negative feelings and make you feel very hopeless. ‘How can this goal be possible if I don’t have the money to build it!?’
- There is an immediate arising of a question – “I don’t know how to get there…so if I don’t know how to get there I will always have to figure things out before I can even take a step, which I don’t know how to do… so then how can this goal even be possible??!” It does come from the inner sceptic a little but it doesn’t sound sceptical, it sounds very reasonable – it’s more the analytical part of your mind that wants to know all the steps before you start out.
And the goal will shut down right there.
The goal will stop.
Sound familiar!? I’m betting that if you’re struggling to breathe life into your dream then one or more of these 6 heavy hitters have brought you down at one point or another.
So what can you do? Well there are many ways to notice where you’re at, identify your biggest stumbling blocks and bust through those blocks so you can realise your dreams.
I have my way of course and that involves EFT tapping and lots of it!!!
If the words ‘It’s impossible’ feel even the smallest bit true to you when you think of your goal/s then it might be time to do the inner mindset work to get you into action!
